FASHION GALLERY No.1 ¿QUÉ VA A QUEDAR DE TI?

MÉXICO CITY, 2019

About the exhibition

Fashion aS living archive: a meeting point between questions, creation, humanity, and history. Through the work of 12 designers, the exhibition unveils the circularity of fashion as a confirmation of time and space, exploring how each garment transcends its origins to become a vessel of connection and meaning.

From creative vision to production, visual campaigns, and consumer appropriation, this journey narrates the fashion process as a bridge between designer and wearer, where each piece gains new layers of history and purpose. WHAT WILL REMAIN OF YOU? celebrates fashion’s ability to inhabit memory, identity, and transformation.

A POEM BY LUCIANA VILLEGAS

¿Qué va a quedar de ti?

Y es que no dejo de pensar en ti,
quien va a vivir todo esto,
tú que miras
ahora
aquí
a mi
que soy tú mismo
y los que vienen
de mucho más adelante
tanto, que es atrás.

Tú que eres parte de un proceso,
la circularidad a p a r e n t e m e n t e invisible-
porque solo permanece un fragmento

físico la pieza que utilizas
quien te cobija
ahora (¿y mañana?)

pero no existe una forma sin fondo.

Quisiera entonces enseñarte
la parte humana -the stitches of your coat

porque hay que desacostumbrarse para renacer

tú como mezclilla, algodón, o transparencia,
producto de una fusión,
que se adapta y gana valor,
en donde queda registro,
y se genera un vínculo emocional
porque es vulnerable, único
vivo

la migratoria exploratoria
somos suma de materiales
retazos, que son recuerdos

el ARCHIVO:

inicio y su evolución,
la posibilidad de regresar siempre
sin perder el hilo

de un círculo virtuoso
la capacidad para todo
manifiesto del interior
de lo que fue,
es y será

quedo permanezco resisto habito
porque creo,
porque produzco
en México
que es mestizaje

melting pot
un diálogo entre pasado, presente y futuro,
la creación de una manada
como reflejo del mundo que habité.

What will remain of you?

And I can't stop thinking about you, the one who will live through all of this,
you who are watching
now
here
at me
I am you, yourself
and those who come
from much further ahead
so far, that it’s behind.

You who are part of a process,
the circularity a p p a r e n t l y invisible-
because only a fragment remains

physical the GARMENT you use
that shelters you
now (and tomorrow?)

but there is no form without foundation.

I would like then to show you
the human part -the stitches of your coat

because one must unlearn to Be reborn

you as denim, cotton, or transparency,
a product of fusion,
that adapts and gains value,
where records remain,
and an emotional bond is created
because it is vulnerable, unique
alive

the migratory exploratory
we are a sum of materials
scraps, which are memories

the ARCHIVE:

beginning and its evolution,
the possibility of always returning
without losing the thread

of a virtuous circle
the capacity for everything
manifested from within
of what was, is
and will be

I stay, remain, resist, inhabit
because I believe,
because I create
in Mexico
which is mestizaje

melting pot
a dialogue between past, present, and future,
the creation of a pack
as a reflection of the world I inhabited.
